Starting position for all figures. Feet together facing front, hands outstretched to sides at shoulder level.
Step Tempo Pas de Basque (without leaping).
1 quick Step to the Right on the right foot.
2 quick Step to the Right on the left foot in-front of right.
3 slow Shift weight back onto right foot.
Repeat above steps to the Left with opposite footwork. Begin on left foot.
Repeat as often as desired.

Step Tempo Half Step.
1 slow Step forward on the right foot.
2 slow Touch ball of left foot forward keeping weight mostly on right.
Repeat above steps forward with opposite footwork.
The second step the "touch" step is often accompanied by a quick jerk of the hips forward.
Repeat as often as desired.

Half Step - Two Step

Step Tempo Two Step.
1 quick Step forward on the right foot.
2 quick Step forward on the left foot next to right.
3 slow Step forward on the right foot.
Repeat above steps forward with opposite footwork.
Repeat as often as desired.

Step Tempo Back Cross Step.
1 slow Step to the Right on the right foot.
2 slow Step to the Right on the left foot behind right.
Repeat above steps several times. This step is often done around a partner, if there is one, in a counter clockwise direction, it is often accompanied by a shivering motion of the shoulders.
A simple series of walking steps may be performed forward or backward, usually accompanied by a shivering motion of the hips.
